Community Affairs Division

The Community Affairs Division is the liasion with the Community.  It is comprised of the Community Affairs Section and the Community Lead Officer Detail who work jointly to address the needs of the Community. 

The Community Affairs Section includes two police officers, a services officer and a cadet.  The Community Affairs Section coordinate programs such as Neighborhood Watch, Business Watch, Apartment Watch, Partners in Policing and Teens and Police.  This section also coordinates and performs Home Security Inspections and coordinates Vacation Security Checks, speaker requests and public tours of the Police Department.  The Community Affairs Section is involved with the South Bay Special Olympics and national events such as Red Ribbon Week, Blue Ribbon Week and National Night Out. 

The Community Lead Officer Detail includes a sergeant and four officers who are assigned one of four sections of the City and are responsible for handling quality of life issues in the City of Torrance.  The CLO Detail routinely works with other City Departments such as Environmental, Fire and Business Licensing to address these issue.
