The City of Torrance Learning Center for Arts Excellence is an arts education program designed to engage the public in a wide variety of arts education, performance and exhibition opportunities.
The Learning Center is based at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center and is a program of the Cultural Services Division of the Torrance Community Services. Classes are held at the Cultural Arts Center, 3330 Civic Center Drive unless otherwise noted. Fees listed represent the cost for residents/non-residents.
The Learning Center provides arts experiences and educational programs for people of all ages. Some programs are designed to be first-time experiences, while others require previous experience or training in music, visual arts, dance, drama or writing.
The vision for the Learning Center is to make the arts an integral part of the lives of all citizens of the Torrance community and the South Bay region through excellent arts education and training programs. This includes high quality instruction, performance and exhibition opportunities so that students can demonstrate their accomplishments.
The Learning Center provides outstanding educators, most with advanced university degrees in their fields of study and extensive experience as professional artists. Many of the teachers have extensive contacts in their field, which is often useful to students looking at the arts as a career.
