It has unparalleled coverage of the U.S. and the U.K., including census, vital, church, court, and immigration records, as well as record collections from Canada and other areas. This collection of more than 4,000 databases and 1.5 billion names is essential to having a complete genealogy collection  The Ancestry Library Edition collection has approximately 4,000 databases including key collections such as U.S. federal census images and indexes from 1790 to 1930; the Map Center containing more than 1,000 historical maps; American Genealogical Biographical Index (over 200 volumes), Daughters of the American Revolution Lineage (over 150 volumes), The Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England, 1620-1630, Social Security Death Index, WWI Draft Registration Cards, Federal Slave Narratives, and a strong Civil War collection.  In the coming year, still more indexes and original images will be added to the new Immigration collection.

Live Homework Help

You've got homework.  We've got help!   The Torrance Public Library will soon offer help from real, live tutors right at the library or in your home via the Internet!

Live Homework Help is available for 4th - 12th grade and college introduction level students from 1 pm to 10 pm every day.  This program connects students to a real live tutor.  Children and young adults visiting the library simply log on to Live Homework Help via the Torrance Public Library website with their Library Card number, enter their grade level and the subject they need help in and within a few minutes or less are connected to an expert tutor.
