Michael Mauno, Council Member : E-mail Michael Mauno was elected to his first term on the City Council in 2002. He is currently Chair of the Transportation Committee as well as a member of the Community Planning and Design Committee and the Employee Relations Committee. Councilman Mauno also serves on the Rose Float and Armed Forces Ad Hoc Committees. He is liaison to the Youth Task Force and a delegate to the Los Angeles County West Vector Control District. Prior to being elected to the Council, he was a member and chairman of the Planning Commission. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Torrance Public Facilities and Building Corporation and the Torrance Improvement Corporation. He was a member of the Community Oversight Ad Hoc Committee and Ad Hoc Committee of Long Term Facilities Utilization for the Torrance Unified School District. Mr. Mauno is a project manager for a Real Estate Investment Trust headquartered on the East coast. His professional experience has included project management for Albertsons Inc., Cal Fed Enterprises, American Real Estate Group, and retail facilities for Fortune 500 corporations.
