Downtown Sewer Rehabilitation,I-68
Project Manager: Craig Bilezerian, P.E.
Project Engineer: Sandy Cohen
| Description:
This project will rehabilitate various sewers in downtown Torrance. In most locations, the existing underground sewer pipe will be repaired in place by insertion of a plastic liner. This repair method eliminates the need to excavate trenches and minimizes potential impacts to the streets, alleys and adjacent properties. In other locations excavation will be necessary for larger repairs or to replace the existing sewer pipe with a new vitrified clay pipe (VCP) sewer. In addition, some sewer manholes will be repaired.
Construction is scheduled to begin in August 2005 and continue through December 2005. The project budget is $1,200,000. The project is being coordinated with two other sewer rehabilitation projects in the downtown area.
