Starting July 1, 2008, the refuse rates are:

$22.29 regular service rate for collection of refuse and recycling
$8.24 qualifying low-income senior rate and qualifying permanently disabled rate
$16.72 second refuse container rate

The increases starting July 1, 2008, are based on the CPI rate of 4.1% this year.

Starting July 1, 2007, the refuse rates are:

$21.41 regular service rate for collection of refuse and recycling
$7.92 qualifying low-income senior rate and qualifying permanently disabled rate 
$16.06 second refuse container

The increases starting July 1, 2007, are based on the CPI rate of 3.0% this year.

All refuse rates are based on the annual CPI increase.

Low-Income Senior or Permanently Disabled Discounts
To qualify for a senior or handicapped rate, the applicant must be a minimum of 62 years of age or permanently disabled. In addition, your total household income must be no greater than $26,000 for the prior calendar year.  If you meet this criteria, please call the City's Finance Department at 1-310-618-5830, and they will mail you the appropriate forms.

** If you live in a single family residence and are not receiving services such as refuse collection from the City of Torrance, more than likely your address is not considered City of Torrance.
