49th Annual Parade

On May 17, 2008, the 49th Annual Armed Forces Day Parade ran along Torrance Boulevard from downtown Torrance and ended at the City Hall.

The 2008 Grand Marshal, Major General Michael R. Lehnert of the United States Marine Corps, led the parade of over 50 entries from active and reserve military units from the five branches of the Armed Forces.  In addition, the Army Reserve was celebrating its 100th Anniversary in 2008.  The parade also included flyovers by military aircraft and had military vehicles of all descriptions; Humvees, armored personnel carriers, support vehicles and main battle tanks also rumbled down the streets of Torrance.  Additionally, military and elected dignitaries honored the hundreds of military service men and women as they passed in review.

48th Annual Parade

On May 19, 2007, the 48th Annual Armed Forces Day Parade ran along Torrance Boulevard from downtown Torrance and ended at the City Hall.

The 2007 Grand Marshal, General Kevin P. Chilton of the United States Air Force, led the parade of over 50 entries from active and reserve military units from the five branches of the Armed Forces.  In addition to being the honored branch, the United States Air Force was also celebrating its 60th Anniversary in 2007.  The parade also included flyovers by military aircraft and had military vehicles of all descriptions; Humvees, armored personnel carriers, support vehicles and main battle tanks also rumbled down the streets of Torrance.  Additionally, military and elected dignitaries honored the hundreds of military service men and women as they passed in review.
